Ignasi Brunet

Dr. Ignasi Brunet Icart

Professor of Sociology at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV). He is the director of the research group Social and Organizational Analysis, the director of the specialized journal International Journal of Organizations and the director of the research committee on Organizational Sociology in the Spanish Federation of Sociology. He is author or co-author of several books and articles published in scientific journals on sociological theory, economic sociology, sociology of work and sociology of education and he has been directing or participating in research projects on the same fields.

Dr. Ángel Belzunegui Eraso

Lecturer of Sociology at the University Rovira i Virgili. PhD in Sociology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Postgrade in Demography at the same university. His research is focused on the analysis of organizations and the study of social structure. He is currently director of the Social Inclusion Chair of the URV.

Dr. Amado Alarcón Alarcón

Lecturer of Sociology at the University Rovira i Virgili. Hellín, 1973. PhD in Sociology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. His main research areas include language, migration and business. Currently, he is working for the project "Exploring Possible Benefits of Bilingualism in the Labor Market and Beyond", promoted by the University of California, Los Angeles. Vice President of the Research Committee on Language and Society (RC25) in the International Sociological Association.

Dra. Inma Pastor Gosálbez

Lecturer of Sociology at the University Rovira i Virgili and PhD at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Her Thesis was awarded with the Prize of the Consejo Económico y Social in 2005. She is author and coauthor of several books and articles in specialized journals on sociology. She was responsible for studies of Industrial Relations and Labour Sciences as a member of Dean of the Faculty of Law, University Rovira i Virgili, from October 2006 to October 2008. She is currently director of the Gender Equality Observatory of the URV since 2007.

Dr. Josep Moreno Gené

Lecturer of Labor Law and Social Security, Universitat de Lleida. His research focuses on the study of the entrepreneur and his organization, teaching and research staff, as well as the phenomena of immigration, poverty and social exclusion. He is author and coauthor of several monographs and articles in professional journals for Labor and Social Security.

Dra. Ana Mª Romero Burillo

Lecturer of Labor Law and Social Security at the Universitat de Lleida. Her research focuses on analyzing the content and the concerns of employment, the complementary social protection, the impact of new technologies in relations of work, equal opportunity policies and the phenomena of immigration, poverty and social exclusion. She is author and co-author of several monographs and articles in specialized Law Labor and Social Security. 

Dr. Miquel Àngel Purcalla Bonilla

Lecturer of Law Labor and Social Security of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. His main lines of research are working conditions of the PDI work at public universities, self-employment, globalization, immigration and work safety and occupational health.

Dra. Teresa Torres Coronas

Degree in Economics at the University of Barcelona and PhD in Business Administration at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. Awarded with the first prize by the X edition of EADA awards (2000). Author of several books, articles and conference presentations on the fields of intangible management, management education, applied creativity and ICT. She is one of the researchers of the ELIS Group: E-government for Local Integration with Sustainability (Royal Holloway, University of London). Active member of the Academy of Management (USA) and the Information Resources Management Association (USA).

Dr. Mario Arias Oliva

PhD on Designing Virtual Organizations at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. He attended the complete doctoral program at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He completed additional training at the Rotterdam School of Management. He participated in the course on Industrial Relations organized by the London Business School. He is International Researcher Associated of the Center for Computing and Social Responsibility, De Montfort University, England. 

Dr. Jorge de Andrés

Lecturer of Financial Economics and Accounting at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. PhD on Business Administration at the URV. He is specialist in applying qualitative methods in social sciences and he published articles in magazines such as Fuzzy Sets and Systems, European Journal of Operations Research and Insurance: Mathematics and Economics.

Dr. Rafael Böcker Zavaro

Lecturer of Sociology at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. PhD in Economics and Business at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. Degree in Sociology at the Universidad de Buenos Aires and postgraduate degree in Politics and Economy at the Instituto de Altos Estudios Sociales of the Universidad Nacional de General San Martín (Argentina). He had training as an invited professor at the Lateinamerika Institut of the Freie Universität Berlin (German) and at the Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata (Argentina). He has been doing research in joint projects with research groups from Argentina, Mexico and Costa Rica. His main research areas include Economic Sociology, Historical Sociology and Economic Policy. 

Dr. Francesc Valls Fonayet

Associated professor at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. PhD at URV with the thesis entitled Social youth vulnerability: basic forms of poverty and social exclusion. The youth social groups. He did an internship in the Équipe de Recherche sur les Inégalités Sociales, at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris, coordinated by Professor Serge Paugam, as part of his doctoral studies. He participates in academic research, especially related to the topics of poverty and social exclusion, social inequalities based on age, gender, and ethnicity, as well as on entrepreneurship. He also collaborates in the authorship of several books and articles in scientific journals.

 

 David Dueñas Cid

Associat laboral. Llicenciat en Sociologia (2003) i MA en Política Social (2010) per la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Docent a la Universitat Rovira i Virgili des del 2006, on combina la seva tasca docent i de recerca amb la seva tasca professional externa. En els darrers anys ha participat en la coordinació del Postgrau de Participació Ciudadana i Comunicació, en l'Anàlisi del Teixit Associatiu del municipi de Tarragona, en l'Anàlisi de les Necessitats i Demandes dels joves d'origen immigrant a Catalunya i en el projecte Access to Rights and Civil Dialogue for All.

Lecturer of Sociology at the Universidad del País Vasco. His research interests are: the analysis of capitalism within the tradition of comparative studies of national or regional business, innovation and labor relations. Currently, his research interest focuses on the regional and local dimension in Europe, and on policies and systems of innovation and training.

Dr. Alejandro Pizzi

Lecturer at the Universitat de Valencia. PhD at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili and Master in Industrial Organization at the same university. Degree in Sociology at the Universidad de Buenos Aires. Master in Economic Sociology at the Instituto de Altos Estudios Sociales, Universidad Nacional General San Martín, Buenos Aires. His major research areas are sociology of work, economic sociology and social economy.

Dr. Jordi Moreras Palenzuela

Associated Professor of Anthropology at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. Degree in social anthropology (UAB, 1990) and Master in Euro-Arab Studies (Universitat de Girona, 1993). His research focuses on the study of Muslim communities in Catalonia and in Europe, and religious expression in the context of immigration. His latest publications are The imams of Catalonia (2007), Dimensions of Religious Pluralism (2007) and Muslims of Catalonia. Picture of an implanted Islam (2008). 

Dr. Marco Trentini

Marco Trentini is a researcher in Economic Sociology at the Department of Education, Università di Bologna (Italy). Graduated in Economics at the Università degli Studi di Trento (1990), PhD in Sociology and Social Research at the same university (1994). His research is focused on various topics in the field of economic sociology and industrial relations.

Prof. Josiah Heyman

Professor of Anthropology and Chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Texas at El Paso. PhD at the City Universtity of New York (1988) . His current work focuses on mobilities and enclosures in society.  He publishes books, scholarly articles and book chapters, including Life and Labor on the Border: Working People of Northeastern Sonora, Mexico, 1886-1986 (University of Arizona Press 1991); Finding a Moral Heart for U.S. Immigration Policy: An Anthropological Perspective (American Anthropological Association 1998); and States and Illegal Practices (edited; Berg 1999). He received the Curl Essay Prize of the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland.

Dr. Danilo Martucelli

Professor of Sociology at the Paris-Descartes University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences - Sorbonne, and researcher at CERLIS-CNRS. He works specifically about social theory, sociology of education, political sociology and individuation in the sociology. He develops field research both in Europe and Latin America. He has been visiting professor at different universities from Europe, United States and Latin America.

Dr. Pascal Nicolas-Le Strat

Political Scientist and Sociologist. Professor of Political Sciences at the Paul Valéry University - Montpellier 3. His research is being developed in differend fields: creation or micropolitics resistance, different ways of artistic and social experimentation, knowledge policies, professional evolution and social interventions. His research is a compromise between Sociology of Work and Sociology of Power.

Oana Matu-Rancu

Pre-doctorate scholarship. She is currently doing a doctoral thesis entitled The poverty of women in the countries of Eastern Europe: the case of Romanian women. Degree in journalism in Romania, at the Universitatea de Vest Timisoara. Master in Cultural Studies Mediterranean at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. Her  main research areas are migration, gender and poverty.

Antonio Fernández

FI AGAUR Pre-doctorate scholarship. Diploma in Private Investigation (UB 1999), Diploma in Industrial Relations (URV, 2006), Bachelor of Labour Studies (URV, 2008), Master in Business Law and Contracting (URV, 2009). His areas of research focus on recruitment, new technology and innovation in SMEs.

Xavier Puig

Pre-doctorate scholarship. Degree in Sociology (2007) and Investigation and Applied Sociology Master (2008) at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He has worked in gender’s inequalities in different areas: in academic research and consulting work for companies in order to implement equality plans. Recently, he has done extensive research on the linkage and entrepreneurship capabilities of the universities. Currently, his research interests are the social structure, especially social inequality, poverty and intellectual disability, social policy, collective action and political ideologies.

Paloma Pontón

Pre-doctorate scholarship. Degree in Journalism (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, 2007), Philosophy (Universitat de Barcelona, 2004-not finished) and Urban Anthropology Master (Universitat Rovira i Virgili, 2010), she is doing research in the university (UAB-URV) in history, gender and equality since 2007. She joined the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in 2009 as a research assistant of the Department of History and History of Art; in 2010, she joined the Gender Equality Observatory of URV. Currently she is working on her doctoral thesis A study of gender contents in collective bargaining.

María Martínez-Iglesias

Pre-doctorate scholarship in Sociology at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (PhD expected in 2014). She holds B.A. in Sociology at the Universade da Coruña and Master in Gender Equality Policies at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She worked as a researcher at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She has being supervising several research projects for the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation and Development, Catalonian Department of Employment and Catalonian Women Bureau during the last years.

Currently, she is doing her thesis entitled Sindicalism and vocational training, linked to the research project Vocational training and innovation system.
