Dr. Ignasi Brunet Icart

Director of the research group. Professor of Sociology at the University Rovira i Virgili. He is author or coauthor of several books among which the most recent publications are stressed on: Employment strategies and multinational, Icaria, 1999, Business and Strategy in the context of global competition, Ariel 2000;Youth and the labor market transition, Pòrtic, 2001. Science, society and economy, Fundamentos, 2003: Firm and organizative resources, Pirámide, 2004; Theories about the Firm, Pirámide, 2005; Developement, Industry and Firm, Tecnos, 2007. Dr. Ángel Belzunegui Eraso

Professor of Sociology at the University Rovira i Virgili. Doctor Philosophiae in Sociology at the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona and Postgrade in Demography at the same university. His research is focused on the analysis of organizations and the study of social structure.

Dr. Amado Alarcón Alarcón

Professor of Sociology at the University Rovira i Virgili. Hellín, 1973. Graduated in Political Science and Public Administration at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (1996), Doctor Philosophiae in Sociology at the same University (2002). He joined the University Rovira i Virgili in 1997. In this university has taught mainly in subjects related to Industrial Sociology and Social Research Methods. His main areas of research include language, migration and business. Nowadays, he is developing research projects as principal investigator for the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación of the Government of Spain for the Observatorio Catalán de la Juventud and the Secretaría por la Inmigración of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Dra. Inma Pastor Gosálbez

Professor of Sociology at the University Rovira i Virgili. She is author and coauthor of several books and articles in specialized journals on sociology. From October 2006 to October 2008 she was responsible for studies of Industrial Relations and Labor Sciences as a member of Dean of the Faculty of Law, University Rovira i Virgili. She is currently director of the Gender Equality Observatory of the URV.

Dr. Josep Moreno Gené

Professor of Labor Law and Social Security, University of Lleida. His research focuses on the study of the entrepreneur and his organization, teaching and research staff, as well as the phenomena of immigration, poverty and social exclusion. He is author and coauthor of several monographs and articles in professional journals for Labor and Social Security. Among his recent publications are included: The Minimum Income inserció d'Catalan Social Protection System, Institut d'Estudis Autonòmics, 2006; The new legal regime of the active insertion income, Thomson-Aranzadi, 2007 and the research staff in training, Tirant lo Blanch, 2008.

Dra. Ana Mª Romero Burillo

Professor of Labor Law and Social Security at the University of Lleida. Her research focuses on analyzing the content and the concerns of employment, the complementary social protection, the impact of new technologies in relations of work, equal opportunity policies and the phenomenon of immigration, poverty and social exclusion. She is author and co-author of several monographs and articles in specialized Law Labor and Social Security. Among recent publications are included: The flat pension system employment, Thomson-Aranzadi, 2002, Immigration and integration policies, Udl-Institut d'Estudis Autonòmics, 2003; and Equality and remuneration, Tirant lo Blanch, 2006. She is currently General Secretary of the University of Lleida.

Dr. Miquel Àngel Purcalla Bonilla

Professor of Law Labor and Social Security of the University Rovira i Virgili. Main lines of research: Working conditions of the PDI work at public universities, self-employment, globalization, immigration and work safety and occupational health.

Dra. Teresa Torres Coronas

Degree in Economics from the University of Barcelona and a PhD in Business Administration from the University Rovira i Virgili. Awarded first prize at the X Prize EADA (2000). Author of books Trademark Valuation (Gestión 2000) and Retrieve Your Creativity (Septem Ediciones), coeditor of the book Changing the way you teach: Creative tools for management education (Septem Ediciones), e-HRM: Managing Knowledge People (IGI Global, USA), Virtual teams and creativity: Developing Platforms for Co-creation (IGI Global, USA), Encyclopedia of HRIS: Challenges in e-HRM (IGI Global, USA) and Information Communication Technologies and city marketing: Digital Opportunities for Cities around the world (IGI Global, USA). Author of numerous articles and conference presentations on the field of intangible management, management education, applied creativity and ICT. It is one of the researchers of the ELIS Group members: E-government for Local Integration with Sustainability (Royal Holloway, University of London). Active member of the Academy of Management (USA) and the Information Resources Management Association (EUA).

Dr. Mario Arias Oliva

PhD. by the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, doing his doctoral thesis on Designing Virtual Organizations. He attended all of the doctoral program at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He completed additional training at the Rotterdam School of Management, Netherlands. He participated in the course organized by the London Business School on Industrial Relations. He is International Researcher Associated of the Center for Computing and Social Responsibility, De Montfort University, England. He has published several articles which include the Journal of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs on "E-learning and lifelong learning" and co-edited the book eHRM: Managing The knowledge in the United States.

Dr. Jorge de Andrés

Professor of Financial Economics and Accounting from the University Rovira i Virgili. Doctor in Business Administration from the URV. He specializes in applying qualitative methods in social sciences and author of magazines such as Fuzzy Sets and Systems, European Journal of Operations Research and Insurance: Mathematics and Economics.

Dr. Manuel Ahedo Santisteban

Lecturer professor of Sociology at the University Rovira i Virgili. His research interests are: the analysis of capitalism within the tradition of comparative studies of national or regional business, innovation, labor relations, etc. Currently, his research interest focuses on the regional and local dimension in Europe, and on policies and systems of innovation and training.

Dr. Rafael Böcker Zavaro

Lecturer Professor of Sociology at the University Rovira i Virgili. His research lines are: development, enterprise and port cities. He is currently involved as principal investigator in the research project "Development of fisheries. The case of the ports in the Camp de Tarragona.

Dr. Aleksander Kucel

Instructor of Sociology  at Pompeu Fabra University. Aleksander is graduated in Economics at Warsaw School of Economics (2002) and obtained his Ph.D. in Sociology at Pompeu Fabra University (2009). His research concentrates on economic sociology of education and labor market. Aleksander has co-authored articles on labor mismatch and fields of study published in International Journal of Comparative Sociology(2008), and various working papers in the field of labor and educational mismatch. Other research lines include economic sociology of health and widely understood social inequalities.

Dr. Jordi Moreras Palenzuela

Associated Professor of Sociology at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. Degree in social anthropology (UAB, 1990) and Master in Euro-Arab Studies (Univ. of Girona, 1993). His latest publications are The imams of Catalonia (2007), Dimensions of Religious Pluralism (2007) and Muslims of Catalonia. Picture of an implanted Islam (2008). His research focuses on the study of Muslim communities in Catalonia and in Europe, and religious expression in the context of immigration.

Dr. Alejandro Pizzi

Associated professor. Degree in Sociology by the Universidad de Buenos Aires. Master in Economic Sociology, Instituto de Altos Estudios Sociales, Universidad Nacional General San Martín, Buenos Aires. Master of Industrial Organization, URV. Major research areas: sociology of work, economic sociology and social economy.

Dr. Francesc Valls Fonayet

Associated professor. Ph.D in 2011 with the thesis entitled: 'Social youth vulnerability: basic forms of poverty and social exclusion. The youth social groups." As part of this thesis, he conducted a stay in the Équipe de Recherche sur les Inégalités Sociales, at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris, under the coordination of Professor Serge Paugam. He has participated in academic research, especially related to the topics of poverty and social exclusion, social inequalities based on age, gender, and ethnicity, as well as on entrepreneurship. He has also collaborated in the authorship of several books and articles in scientific journals.

David Dueñas Cid

Associated professor. Degree in Sociology at the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (2003), he joined the University Rovira i Virgili in 2006. He is collaborating in several studies in the Civic Participation Degree, their lines of research are the sociology of Governance and Environment. He has collaborated in the analysis of the associations net analisys of the city of Tarragona, and he is currently working as Civic Participation technical expert on Reus City Council.

Marco Trentini is a researcher in Economic Sociology at the Department of Education, University of Bologna (Italy). Graduated in Economics at the University of Trento (1990), Doctor Philosophiae in Sociology and Social Research at the same University (1994). His research is focused on various topics in the field of economic sociology and industrial relations.

Prof. Josiah Heyman

Josiah Heyman (Ph.D., CUNY 1988) is Professor of Anthropology and Chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Texas at El Paso. He has published three books and 40 scholarly articles and book chapters, including Life and Labor on the Border: Working People of Northeastern Sonora, Mexico, 1886-1986 (University of Arizona Press 1991); Finding a Moral Heart for U.S. Immigration Policy: An Anthropological Perspective (American Anthropological Association 1998); and States and Illegal Practices (edited; Berg 1999). In 1999 he received the Curl Essay Prize of the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland. His current work focuses on mobilities and enclosures in society.

Fellow student. She is currently doing a doctoral thesis entitled: 'The poverty of women in the countries of Eastern Europe: the case of Romanian women." Degree in journalism in Romania, Universitatea de Vest Timisoara. Master in Cultural Studies Mediterranean to the URV. His main research areas are migration, gender and poverty.

Sr. Antonio Fernández

FI AGAUR Fellow Student. Diploma in Private Investigation (UB 1999), Diploma in Industrial Relations (URV, 2006), Bachelor of Labour Studies (URV, 2008), Master in Business Law and Contracting (URV, 2009). His areas of research focus on recruitment, new technology and innovation in SMEs.

Sr. Xavier Puig

Sra. Paloma Pontón

Predoctoral Fellow. Degree in Journalism (UAB, 2002-07), Philosophy (UB, 2004-not finish) and Urban Anthropology Master (URV, 2009-10), she works since 2007 linked to the university research (UAB-URV) in history, gender and equality. She joined the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in 2009, as assistant of investigation of the Department of History and History of Art; and in 2010, she joined to the Observatory of the Equality of the same university. Nowadays she is employed at the doctoral thesis "A study of gender contents in collective bargaining" and participates in other research projects of the Social and Organizational Analysis group.
